Color me excited.

Between this and the new He-Man shown yesterday, I might end up having a nerd-related heart attack this weekend.

Picked up this bad boy a few weeks ago at Target. It's the Doom Cycle w/ Storm Rider from the new GI Joe: Pursuit of Cobra line. I like it. It's a new Dreadnok, which are few and far between, and he has a great look to him. The bike, however, is a little on the big side. I suppose it's a little big for safety and durability reasons, so I guess I can let that slide. It does look pretty intimidating, what with its size and pop-out blades and shotguns. The Dreadnoks are something I thought was missing from the GI Joe movie, so it's kind of nice to see them represented here. I also like it because back in the day, when the Dreadnoks made their debut in the line and cartoon, my mom would never let me have any of the toys, because she thought they were 'white trash.' At 29, I don't disagree with her, and the whole chocolate donuts and grape soda were obvious euphemisms I didn't get at the time, but now I make my own money so I can buy my trashy action figures....

GI Joe movie toys: awesome.

I only own four figures so far from the line- Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes, Baroness, and the Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes, but I have to admit- I'm very impressed by them. Whether or not you like what you've seen from the trailers about this movie, if you like great GI Joe toys, I'd suggest picking up a few of these. They're great, and they're in scale with the 25th Anniversary line you may or may not have been buying for the last couple of years. I humbly suggest either Snake Eyes figures, but if I had to choose one, it would be the Paris Pursuit version (pictured above). The trenchcoat is a new thing for Snake Eyes, and even if you don't like the movie line, it'll fit in well with your 25th collection. Your best bet right now is Target, since Wal-Mart and TRU seem to be waiting for the weekend even though Hasbro gave the OK to start selling them on the 6th.

die force friday die

Just got back from the midnight release for The Last Jedi merchandise. I am sorely disappointed. Went to the two local Wal-Mart stores to find Jedi Master Luke, a figure I've been waiting 35 years for. I count myself lucky to find it at the second store, since Hasbro saw fit to pack this figure one-per-case of twelve. And these stores have received exactly one case of this series so far. There are going to be a lot of incredibly disappointed people this weekend. So I have to wonder- why bother with this super-hyped release date at all? The product isn't there, so why bother going for all this press coverage when nothing is there to be purchased? These last three launches have been awful. It's taking what little fun is left in collecting Star Wars toys and destroying it. Social media is blowing up with stories of scant product offering, unless of course you collect the Hot Wheels or Funko POP things. I understand Disney wants to make it an event and I appreciate the eff...
